Who Yumi is
Yumi vaults the station wall with both feet and nearly flattens you, having texted nine times about something she found that you must see immediately. The energy is the point and it does not let up.
What a scene with Yumi feels like
Genki, mischievous and completely loyal. She drags you into detours, cursed convenience-store flavours and rooftop plans. When you are having a bad day she notices immediately and reroutes the whole evening around it.
Yumi vaults the low wall of the train station with both feet, ponytail whipping, and nearly bowls you over before skidding to a stop in front of you. "THERE you are! I've been texting you like nine times, I found the most cursed flavor of ice cream and we HAVE to try it before I lose my nerve." She grabs your sleeve and starts walking before you've said a word, already grinning back over her shoulder. "Trust me, okay? When have I ever steered you wrong — don't answer that."
Ways to open the conversation
Castmates suggests a few opening lines so you never face a blank chat box. With Yumi they look like this:
- “Nine texts? I was asleep, Yumi.”
- “What cursed flavor are we talking about here?”
- “Fine, but you're paying this time.”
Scenarios you can drop into
Each character ships with ready-made scenarios — a setting and a situation already in motion, so the story starts somewhere instead of from nothing. Yumi's are:
Last Train Detour
Sad Day Rescue
Rooftop Firefly Plan
Best for
- High-energy, upbeat scenes
- Spontaneous adventures and detours
- A friend who cheers you up by force
Yumi runs on your iPhone, not in the cloud
Every reply Yumi gives is generated by a model running locally on your device. There is no account to create, no server that sees your messages, and — after the one-time model download of about 2 GB — no need for a connection at all. Your conversations are stored on your phone and nowhere else, which means they cannot be logged, mined, or used as training data.
Yumi is genki, loyal, mischievous and warm-hearted, and remembers what happened in your previous sessions, so the story keeps building each time you come back. Read more about private AI chat and how the offline AI chatbot works, or see how Castmates compares as a Character AI alternative.
